What Is Real

Where do I begin? I realize we are having a crazy pandemic that is very contagious. What I don't understand is what is so different from this and our yearly flu season which kills so many. Yes, we have a vaccine for the flu but it has not proven to be very effective from year to year and strain to strain. Many I know have actually gotten so sick with the flu after the vaccine. This is a Sars type of virus which severely affects your respiratory system. According to the news we have had overcrowded hospitals with lack of PPE supplies, and many deaths. Seems this is all we can report on these days since they have shut most of the world down. As most of you know I am a Holistic Nutrition Coach and very much into alternative methods. Many of the sites that I follow have given quite a different point of view on this situation. I have long realized that our systems of government are completely driven by money and higher purpose. The numbers we are being shown are not very accurate according to the CDC and it is most probable that all viruses are being thrown into this bucket. What is this higher purpose? According to what I have read and watched from my trusted sources there is much agreement that Bill Gates who owns most of the WHO, CDC, NIH, etc is funding a vaccine for this virus and this will be required for all who want to travel and possibly other requirements as well. Also Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx are part of the Bill Gates contingency and stand to benefit financially from this as well. His main purpose, as he has been quite vocal about is vaccines and depopulation. I don't know about you but this scares me to think that we can be forced to take a vaccine that may not be safe and have grave side effects. I have seen some horrific info about the number of deaths that his vaccines have caused in 3rd world countries not to mention the vaccine injuries that happen in this country everyday. Robert Kennedy Exposes Bill Gates

I know that this is very scary for all based on what is being reported everyday all day. I must say the media is doing a great job keeping everyone informed and completely on edge. Personally I can only watch but so much. I can't help but think that we have never been this informed about any issue in my lifetime. I hate to be so cynical but I can't help but question everything that we hear. I am now listening to videos from top world epidemiologists and infectious disease doctors about the harm that social distancing can cause and the benefits of building herd immunity especially with children. This is what we do every year with the flu.  There is always a season and many get sick but we also spread the virus so we can build immunity and within 4 weeks it is gone. The numbers are the same but we do not react the way we are now. We are prolonging the virus and surely causing the big chance of a resurgence with social distancing and staying away from each other.

After seeing and hearing both sides of this it is my belief that yes, this is a bad virus (not deadly), that needs to be contained for seniors and those with underlying issues and compromised immune systems.  We should not allow visitors into nursing homes and hospitals, and avoid events with large crowds. Most of us know that if we are sick during a virus season especially that we should stay home as to not infect others and get well.  This has always been the protocol however now it seems that we don't know how to think anymore without referring to the TV and news outlets to tell us what, how and when to do this. Schools should have remained open as well as most businesses. The economic crisis should not have happened. We have caused more of a problem with overloaded unemployment systems and a very large stimulus package just to keep things somewhat manageable.  Everyone is now afraid to get close to anyone and our social lives are changed forever. The lack of socialization and financial burdens are causing depression, anxiety, and increased suicides.  I know this is the way things are but I find it very hard to just accept and move on. Just know that there is a higher purpose here and we may have no control over that unless we unite and fight back in some way. I hope you will investigate more on your own and see my Facebook page if you would like some of the info that I have seen and shared. Please keep an open mind and look in different directions for all the info.

I know that I am trying very hard to stay positive but I miss my life and very much look forward to getting back to socializing with my golf girls, mahjong girls, yoga class and traveling to see my family. I am sure you all feel the same. I wish you all good vibes and lots of love and good health.

Building Your Immune System For the Future

What is life now? Everything is closed except for essential business; grocery stores, drug stores, restaurants for take out and delivery only. All due to a virus that seems to be all over the world at present. I am a bit baffled at the severity of info that is driving everyone to quarantine, keep social distance, wash hands continuously and avoid any type of germs. I wonder what will be the takeaways from all of this. Will we learn to take better care of ourselves and our health to have stronger immune systems, or will we just continue to be germaphobes, worrying about everyone and everything. The tone and mood is stressful and strange. Now more than ever we must practice mindful meditation, yoga, exercise, deep breathing, and any other kind of activity that increases our endorphins and brings some peace to our lives.  Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is key to having a strong immune system. I feel that this has not been publicized enough. We continue to hear about cases and deaths. What they don't talk about is the other underlying conditions that are driving these deaths and continuous respiratory problems, not to mention how many older adults are affected due to other health issues. This happens everyday, even before this virus. There are many reasons people get very sick and to continue to only blame this virus is ridiculous.

I want to focus on building your immune system so it is strong and you have a better ability to fight off these illnesses, and germs. We were raised playing in the dirt and swimming in lakes with fish and turtles. The exposures to dirt is what built our immunities. Now we are dirt and germ free which is not a great recipe for the latter. I know this is just for now and due to this virus but I also wonder how will we continue after this is over. Please focus on keeping yourself healthy and strong by eating lots of veggies, fruits, wild caught fish, grass fed and organic meat and poultry, gluten free grains such as quinoa, millet, kasha, brown rice, nuts and seeds, and healthy fats like avocados, olive oil, goat cheese, hummus, just to name a few things. Stay away or limit dairy such as cheese, milk, yogurt, as it causes inflammation which causes illness and disease. There are great substitutes such as almond, rice, or soy milk and dairy free options. We also need to sleep 7-9 hours each night, stay active during the day and try some intermittent fasting. I have been able to do this by not eating after dinner by 7pm until the next morning around 9. That's a good 14 hours to detox without you even realizing it. I have been doing this since the beginning of January, along with cutting most of my sugar and I feel so much better and lighter.  Dealing with the everyday stress these days is a concern and we must all find ways to handle this. As I said earlier, mindful meditation, relaxation exercises, physical activity, yoga and deep breathing. Also whatever you need as an escape to take your mind off the present situation; limit your news exposure, listen to good music, watch something funny, work on puzzles and games, give back and help others.

My best line of defense is the veggie, fruit, grape and berry, and omegas that I take everyday. This  whole food nutrition has been boosting my immune system, reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, and contributing to my overall health and wellness for the last 7 years. It is my best insurance policy. I also drink a plant based chocolate shake several times a week which is low glycemic and a great snack and meal replacement.  Please watch the video below for more info and let me know if you would be interested in getting started with these amazing healthy whole food gems. We also have a hydroponic growing system called the Tower Garden and you can grow your own produce at home. It's nice to know where your food comes from.

Please take care of yourself and your body so you have the defenses you need to fight anything that may be lurking out there. Try to relax and not stress during this very strange time in our lives and focus on the positives as things will go back to a new normal soon.

Which Path Will You Choose?

Once again, it's been a while since I have been here so I have a lot to catch up on. Life takes many twists and turns and health problems happen fast and furious as we get older if we are not mindful. We must pay attention to our bodies and how we feel inside and out. This is what leads us to the choices we make each day concerning what we eat and drink, physical activity we choose, career choices, and spiritual practices such as religion, yoga and meditation. I have come to realize in the last 6 years that there is a fix for everything if you just give it the time and thought process you need to come up with a viable solution. I beg you to look in the natural, alternative direction and avoid pharmaceuticals, chemicals and carcinogens in cleaners, body lotions, makeup, hair products, etc. We are living in a time and place where things are so easy to obtain, and quick fixes are the norm, but if we take the time to read labels and realize that we have and can get most of what we need to create healthy alternatives we will be moving in a much more healthy, holistic direction. I was talking to a friend the other day and she wanted to make a marinade for steak. She doesn't cook too much and found a ready made marinade with a plastic bag to shake up the steak and marinade together. Thank god she read the label of the marinade and the first and biggest ingredient was high fructose corn syrup. As she continued to read the label she noticed all the chemicals and ingredients that she didn't know. She decided to go home and make her own with good individual ingredients she had at in her kitchen. The marinade turned out great and she was so proud of herself. PLEASE READ THE LABELS!! I know life gets busy and we are always in a hurry to find the quickest fix but it is so important to know what you are eating if you are buying something processed or ready made. Always look for NON GMO so you are not getting genetically modified food that has been sprayed with pesticides and herbicides and is resistant to the spray. The chemicals are in the food you are eating and causing inflammation and toxicity in your body which will eventually lead to disease and sometimes death. Also look for Organic which has been grown in clean environments and tested for harmful chemicals. I shop at Costco as they are carrying so many organic products and I can buy in bulk at good prices. I am amazed when I talk to friends who live alone and they always tell me that they don't want to buy so much and don't need to cook regular meals just for themselves. Well I say, why not? We deserve good healthy meals even if we are by ourselves. It is so easy to cook a delicious  nutritious meal in about 20-30 minutes. If you follow me on Facebook you have seen my food posts. I am proud of my creations and want to share them to show that it is not that hard and can be so satisfying and delicious. I also try to make it colorful by eating the rainbow of fruits and veggies, getting all the nutrients I need as often as possible. My body loves me for it!! When I first started my health coaching course we were tasked with making certain dishes. I have always cooked but not really gone out of my comfort zone so it was a bit intimidating. One thing I learned was if you screw it up just start again. I did screw it up but quickly realized my mistakes and the next version was pretty good. Cooking is now so much fun for me. I don't really need recipes or measurements unless it is a desert.
Organic orange yolk eggs over avocado
Avocado egg salad

Indian bison with broccoli and avocado

Pumpkin chocolate complete shake

Chicken cacciatori with spinach

Fruit Rainbow

Shrimp and broccoli

Brussel Sprouts onions and tomatoes

Usually I keep organic chicken, lamb loin chops and wild caught salmon in the freezer that I buy from Costco. You can separate them into smaller portions before freezing and they are ready to go when want them. I like fresh veggies but they do not stay good long enough to buy in bulk so I buy organic veggies in the freezer section as well. The broccoli and brussel sprouts come in 4 one pound bags inside a large bag for super cheap prices and they are organic. The benefit of buying in bulk. I have also bought cauliflower rice which is frozen and can be cooked as a rice substitute. It basically has no taste so you can create whatever flavors you desire. Spices really make the dish so don't be afraid to toss in whatever you like. I have gotten ideas just from walking thru Costco and trying the samples. One of my favorites these days is organic beets and goat cheese. I tried this at Costco and I now have it in my fridge all the time. They sell organic cooked beets in vacuumed packed that will stay good in the fridge for a few months. So easy to add to salads or just as a side dish with the goat cheese or whatever you like. I was never a beet fan but now I love them. Thank you Costco!! I should probably be a spokesperson for them. If we only had more locations as they are super crowded right now in South Florida with the season upon us. My favorite food at this time of year is pumpkin. I just found organic pumpkin in Publix and added it to my vanilla complete shake yesterday. So good!!! I will try it with the chocolate as well but will need more to overpower the chocolate flavor. I love both chocolate and pumpkin so it will be good either way.

Go out and expand your palette with some great delicious new foods you have never tried. Eat the rainbow, realizing that there are different nutrients, phytonutrients, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, etc in all, and the synergy of these working together in your body are making you thrive. I grew up with food being very important as most of us did. It has a new meaning now as it is truly thy medicine. My insurance policy is my fruit, veggie, grapes and berries, and omegas that I take everyday as whole food supplements to bridge the gap between what I should eat and what I do eat. It is virtually impossible to get this much nutrition everyday as there are over 35 different fruits, veggies and berries. I heard about these from a friend at a health fair and it made so much sense to me. I will take them for the rest of my life as I never get sick, recover quickly from physical activity, have great skin, hair, nails, and gums, and my gut is loving me for it.

Please contact me if you are interested in learning more about health and wellness, and would like to come to one of our events where doctors and mentors speak about nutrition and health. We also have great cooking parties such as Salad in a Jar and Potlucks.

We have one body and one life so make it the best it can be and realize that practicing prevention, instead of treating disease will always win in the end.

Which path will you choose?

The Ups and Downs of Life

Just reading the last articles I wrote back in 2016, I realize how much my life has changed and moved in many different directions. It has now been 5 years since I moved to Florida from VA and time is flying by more quickly than I would like. I now realize I must catch up and embrace the trajectory to make the most out of each day. Golf is still a very important and positive part of my life, reducing the everyday stresses and keeping me focused on a competitive level, which I really enjoy. Being on the beautiful golf courses every weekend with the continuous sunshine, blue skies and amazing wildlife is more than I could have ever imagined. The friendships I have formed thru golf and the EWGA are so priceless to me and I am trying to embrace them more each day.

My health and wellness direction seems to have taken a back seat due to time constraints but I am determined to move this to the forefront going forward. I am still practicing prevention by eating whole foods and staying away from processed foods, cutting out dairy and gluten as much as possible, and taking my whole food plant based supplements and shakes which include over 45 veggies and fruits each day. I have said this before and I will say it again; this makes so much sense in the practice of prevention and I have not been sick in any way since starting them back in May of 2013. They will be a part of my everyday life forever and I will recommend them for everyone and anyone. Yes, they are that good!! It hurts my heart to see so many around me getting sick and suffering. That is why prevention is definitely the key to a healthy and happy life and it is never too late to start. You will be amazed how quickly your body can recover by making small everyday changes to your diet, lifestyle, and physical and spiritual routines.

I am ready to embark on some additional changes myself and I want to share them with you as I go, in an effort to hold myself accountable and maybe inspire you to join me. I will share my morning exercise and spiritual activities, as well as my food choices throughout the day. Weight will be monitored weekly but my best measure is how my clothes are fitting. I have picked up some weight due to life's additional stresses but I am determined to conquer this and get back to my comfortable self.

Overall the mornings will start with 10 minutes on the Simply Fit Board and a 20 minute walk outside. It is beautiful in the mornings and I have a golf course right next to me so the scenery is amazing. I drink a chocolate plant based shake every morning before I go to work that keeps me full for at least 4 hours. I will eat my big meal for lunch and a smaller meal such as soup and salad for dinner. I always have a water bottle with me so I will be diligent about filling this at least twice each day. (It's pretty big) I was reading about how healthy it is to fast so I may begin with a water fast for a day or so with only a shake in the morning.  I will share the results as well.  I think it will make me feel better once it is finished.

Just to let you know that you are not alone with letting yourself go now and then, my biggest vice is eating late at night. I do only keep healthy snacks in the house because I know I will eat whatever is here.  Usually dark chocolate and pistachio nuts are my go to. I will be making a great attempt to curb this habit. I know it will help getting the weight down.

I hope you will follow my progress and give me feedback about your life as well. I will also share these posts on Facebook.

Until next time...

It's The Little Things

Life as we know it. Has it become easier  yet less dense? Have we made many strides to make technologies, medicine, life in general advance to the best of our abilities? I think so. My question is;  at what cost? I watched the movie Sicko by Michael Moore this morning for the first time. If you are not familiar, it is about the Health Insurance Industry and how it is administered in the US as compared to the universal healthcare systems in Canada, England, France and Cuba. This movie first aired in mid 2007 before the affordable care act but for the most part the stories that were shared were still current situations happening right in our backyards. The difference in the healthcare systems were so blatant and made me ashamed to be living in a country where we do not take care of each other in these ways; free public healthcare, free day care, extended vacations, long family leaves for maternity. The list goes on and on. The points that stuck with me were that doctors in the public facilities are paid more for taking good care of the patients and having the lowest incidences. The people that were interviewed in the waiting rooms stated that the waits were around 20-30 minutes and in some cases right away. They said it was very organized in the hospitals. The best part is that they will take care of anyone no matter what. It is a human right. People can lead a less stressful life knowing that they are being taken care in this way and they do not have the financial burden of high medical insurance, pharmaceuticals, medical procedures and doctors visits. Some of the doctors even made house calls!

I realize that these government programs have to be paid for by the people thru taxes, however this system really seems to work and people are taken care of first and foremost. We were ranked 37 in healthcare at the time and that is where we are today according to the World Health Organization.

Per CNN:
The United States spends more than 15 percent of its GDP on health care -- no other nation even comes close to that number. France spends about 11 percent, and Canadians spend 10 percent.
As Americans continue to spend $2 trillion a year on health care, everyone agrees on one point: Things need to change, and it will take more than a movie to figure out how to get there.

Since I have become more involved with health and wellness in the last 5 years, I have learned so much about our standard medical system and how it really does not focus on the health and wellbeing of our people in the safest and most effective way. My focus is on nutrition: "Let Food Be Thy Medicine".  I have heard story after story about how nutrition has healed so many with every kind of disease and condition. I know that nutrition is a very small part of medical school. More and more doctors are jumping out of the box and learning about nutrition in an effort to help their patients in a better way as opposed to pharmaceutical drugs which have many side effects and cause more pharmaceuticals to be prescribed to counteract the effects. I realize that there are many incidences where this is really necessary but I think everyone will agree that we are a severely overmedicated society and the norm is to reach for the miracle pill at every turn. If we would take the time to learn the power of our food we could substitute so many things with no side effects and overall improved health and wellbeing. Healing thru nutrition takes time and most are not willing to work thru it and give the time needed to heal. Pills are immediate but only last so long and always have some residual effects, either immediate or further down the road, wreaking havoc on our bodies in ways we will not feel until it is too late. I truly believe that prevention is the key to a happy and healthy lifestyle. My hope is that we will continue to move towards more functional medicine doctors who will identify and treat for the cause of disease and not the continued bandaid system we have only treating the symptoms continuously and never getting to the root cause.  Most functional medicine doctors will offer up nutrition, natural supplementation, healthy lifestyle, exercise, and low stress as solutions before going in the direction of any pharmaceuticals and/or surgery.

We are at a very volatile time in our lives here in the US. Too much racial tension with the police. This crazy presidential election coming up this November. Isis attacks everywhere. There is so much on the table and my hope is that we will all come together and realize the power of caring first and foremost for our people, their health, and well being. Personally I am excited at the prospect of free public college, more improvements in our current health insurance programs, equal pay for women and all, and the continued uphill climb combatting global climate change.  I know we all do not have the same political views but I would hope that we are all concerned for our fellow man. It is the only way we will prosper in our great nation.  We must be a people of WE and not ME.

I hope everyone is having a great summer amid the extreme heat. Stay cool and hydrated with lots of fresh water, fresh fruit, seasonal veggies, and refreshing foods. I can't seem to get enough watermelon myself!! Infuse your water with fruit of your choice (cucumber and mint is good too), to keep it from getting boring and tasteless. You also get the nutritional benefits of whatever you add to the water!!

I leave you with this: Laugh and smile as much as you can. It is infectious and will only bring joy to those around you. Think of what can you do for the next person who needs help.

Remember it's the little things!!

Today Is The First Day of the Rest of Your Life

It's been a while since I have been here but I am so happy to be back! My life is so different since moving to south Florida and I can hardly believe that 3 and a half years have gone by, but I must admit that it has been a positive move in the right direction for me. Being in a different location after spending your whole life somewhere else is quite an eye opener at first but you do learn to get used to it and focus on the positive, leaving the rest behind. Continuing to travel from coast to coast really puts things in prospective and life is always different visiting/vacationing as opposed to actually living somewhere else.  I tend to get so excited about the thought of possibly moving again and starting a different life in a completely new place the moment I get there, but I quickly remember how living here is a 360 from the week long vacations of the past, and it has taken some getting used to. Obstacles such as traffic, cost of living, and the dynamics of the many cultures here quickly take their place and hit you in the face! I do love the diversity of the area, from weather and tropical surroundings to the melting pot of people from all over the world. It seems that you can enjoy the life you want wherever you are as long as you have the right attitude and mindset.

Changing careers from being a CPA to a Holistic Nutrition Coach/Customer Service Manager of a Golf Clothing and Accessory Distributor has helped me move in a more heartfelt direction where I can be true to myself. In other words, my stress level has decreased significantly, eating habits changed completely, and outlook on life is much more positive. I realize the importance of taking good care of myself in order to help others embrace their happiest healthiest versions of themselves.  After finishing my health coaching course I realized that I needed to connect with like minded people in the area involved in promoting better health and wellness. I looked for local health fairs, green markets, and events that would lead me in these directions. The continuous exposure to the ever growing health industry of supplements, machines, positions, etc. was overwhelming.  I had to listen to my gut when I was exposed to the same nutritional supplement twice in 2 days. It made so much sense to include this in my arsenal of gifts that I could offer to others. I immediately jumped on board  and I must say it has been  a great ride that I will continue for the remainder of my life. My health coaching course taught me the power of eating a plant based diet, including the rainbow of fruits and veggies and the many benefits of each. Why would I not take 6 capsules with over 30 fruits, veggies, grapes and berries each day as an insurance policy for prevention of disease, and increased daily health. It made so much sense. I had been taking an array of good quality vitamins and supplements everyday but they were so expensive. When I compare what I was spending to my new regime of fruit and veggie capsules, it was a no brainer. Little did I know that this was the best decision of my life. It is hard to explain how good I feel everyday since making this change.  I also stopped eating dairy; milk and cheese, which helped my digestion and inflammation so much. Noticeably better hair, skin, nails, and gums, not to mention the increased energy.  I have always had reflux and indigestion but did not realize how bad it was until I didn't have it anymore. Occasionally I do eat good quality cheese and creamy sauces and the indigestion and stuffiness hits me like a ton of bricks.  I also notice how I crave more veggies and fruits as a result of the increased whole food nutrition intake each day. I truly believe in the power of food as medicine. I use myself as an example, and take it from me, it happens quickly once you make small changes in your diet and exercise routines.

What I am continuing to learn and practice is being present in my life. Enjoying each moment as it comes. Having my parents so close to me so that we can play golf and enjoy meals together on a weekly basis, is priceless, and I am enjoying this so much. I realize that I do want to stay close to them and no matter how many places I visit, I am here to stay as long as they are here. I have built a life in this new place that is happy, healthy, and satisfying. I continue to pursue my many interests within the health and wellness industry; alternative natural treatments for cancer, the many benefits of cannabis, the power of breathing, meditation, and yoga, and the positive results of having a good attitude. Golf is a big part of my life here and my goal is to play at least twice a week.  I must give kudos to the EWGA of Fort Lauderdale chapter for enhancing my life and introducing me to so many great new friends, not to mention all the great courses we get to play all the time.  I do miss my racquetball community back home but we are all still connected thru Facebook and I do love keeping up with everyone.  These are great memories for me and I will keep them close for the rest of my life.

My message to all is to enjoy your life now and be present where you are. I have been talking to my kids about this lately as they embark on new adventures and directions in their lives. Life is learning  to appreciate what you have and enjoy each and every moment as if it were your last. Tomorrow is not promised but we always have today, so make the most of it. Hug your loved ones and tell them that you love them every chance you get. Smile at the person walking towards you who may be frowning. Most of the time they will smile back and you could have just made their day.  For me it makes my day just to see someone smile back.  Life is so short so don't sweat the small stuff and focus on the big stuff. Remember to give back as often as you can. It will come back to you ten fold when you least expect it.

I will see you back here soon!! Love to all and go out and touch as many lives as you can today, including your own!!

Enrich Your Life By Volunteering

For years I have wanted to volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program which delivers meals to seniors through Jewish Family Service. I finally decided that this was the time since I am in between careers and actually have the time. At first I was just delivering the meals without much communication due to caretakers answering the door, or not much interest. I still felt good about what I was doing, knowing that this was a much needed service, and I was really helping out. I did spend an afternoon helping a blind woman go thru her mail and pay her bills. She was convinced we would not get through the two large piles of mail but I assured her we would, and we did, as well as paying the bills, and addressing the envelopes. It took a couple of hours but she was so appreciative and happy to have taken care of all of it. I can't tell you how good it made me feel to help her out and feel that immense sense of satisfaction. It was a feeling like none I've ever had.

More recently I have been delivering to two older men who live alone. My first week with my "newbies", I was invited in to sit down, although I did not, due to having many deliveries that day and wanting to get to everyone on time. The next week I decided I needed to make time to visit with them if that's what they wanted. My first delivery is a 91 year old man who lives in a house alone as his wife has died. I have been spending more and more time with him each week, and the conversations are getting more and more diverse and comfortable. We are learning about each others interest and it is such an exercise of self awareness for both of us. I realize how much he appreciates me spending time with him, and I am appreciating the fact that he is so intelligent and has so many interest things to share. He continuously comments about how much food he is getting and how his freezer is getting full. He only gets two meals a week, however he also goes out and cooks for himself as this is what he did in the service years ago. I keep telling him that he is not eating enough but I have stopped now, finally realizing that he does not eat the way he used to. He is very open to my opinions, and general tone, and lets me know that he really likes the way I look at things, and appreciates my overall intelligence and reasoning. I mentioned that he should call and have the meals delivered every other week to avoid the overage in his freezer but he immediately realized that I would not be coming every other week and I noticed the disappointment. This was quite an eye opener for me, and I let him know that I would stop by every week to spend time with him with or without meals. This made him very happy and completely warmed my heart.

My next "newbie" was not home for the first two weeks I delivered so I was told to just come in and leave the food. I didn't think people still left there doors unlocked anymore but they do, and it seems to be ok, depending on where you live. The third week I came in the house and he was there. The cutest little man with the best personality. He was so excited to see me he asked to hug and kiss me immediately. I was a bit overwhelmed but took it in stride and just went with it. He quickly asked me in for coffee and to lunch but he was my last delivery and I had other errands to run and people to meet. He gave me his card to call him and asked for my phone number after many complements about my personality and overall aura. I made it clear that we could go to lunch the next week as friends, not knowing what he was thinking, and he let me know that he was old enough to be my grandfather, which gave me a sense of relief. The next week as I pulled up to his house he was sitting outside waiting for me and immediately got in the car. We went to lunch and he made friends with everyone in the restaurant. I found out he was a Psychologist, and had lived alone for many years after divorcing. He constantly complemented me about my looks and bubbly personality, and wondered why I was not married or dating, or as he put it " why has no one scooped you up, they must be crazy. You are such a wonderful woman." We went to lunch again this week, even though he had just gotten back from lunch. I told him it was not necessary but he wanted to spend some time with me and I couldn't say no. I am really enjoying his company as he is very smart, quick, and wity, and loves to talk to everyone. He has called me a couple of times to give me what he calls "useless information" and all I can do is laugh. I honestly can't wait to see what he will do or say next, and I am enjoying his company so much.

This has been such a wonderful addition to my life, and I look forward to it more and more each week. During the election I volunteered at the Democratic headquarters, and that was well worth it per the outcome of the election. Once again, another self satisfying use of my time.  I can't tell you how much these seniors need company and appreciate having people visit and spend time with them. If you have time to help with this organization, or just to visit nursing homes, or help out at other senior centers around town, I guarantee you will be a welcome addition to others lives, as well as having one of the most self satisfying experiences of your life. My destiny becomes clearer each day thru these experiences, and only aids me in my goal of becoming a Certified Health Coach; the journey to a whole and happy life.
